I am an Experienced Yoga Teacher (ERYT®500) with The Yoga Alliance as well as the Educational Director and Lead Instructor at Yoga Teacher Training Kingston. I began my movement exploration as a dancer in my youth and pursued a post-secondary degree in kinesiology and health studies while concurrently completing my Bachelor of Education. I opened a yoga studio in 2011 and, since then, I have offered a contemporary perspective to yoga that is informed by science as well as experience. My teachings are built on the pillars of critical thinking, anti-oppression, and empowerment and rooted in social activism. As a passionate advocate for body positivity, I sit as a member of the Leadership Team with the Yoga and Body Image Coalition. My approach to accessibility is modern and informed by a fully embodied and integrated experience; reframing accessibility as the default and not the exception. When I am not at home in Kingston, Ontario with my husband and young daughter, I foster community and connection all over the world through my blog, workshops, classes, and yoga teacher trainings.
Within the yoga space, I provide contemporary movement education that is informed by science as well as experience. As a microcosm for our lives off of the mat, I nurture compassionate yoga spaces that are safe, inclusive, and empowering. I am committed to manifesting such spaces through critical thinking as a creative process and with an appreciation for the art of adaptation.
